Srinagar, Dec 10 (KNS): A toilet complex has been built close to the Baramulla-Handwara highway near Watergam without a formal permission from Municipal Committee Watergam in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Locals said that the toilet complex has been built at an estimated cost of rupees 16 lakhs in violation of the building permission rules as Municipal Committee Watergam has not been approached for grant of permission. They said the road widening is in progress and the toilet complex will have to be dismantled in short time which would cause a huge loss to the state exchequer.
Executive Officer Municipal Committee Watergam Imtiyaz Ahmad confirmed to KNS that no building permission has been granted for construction of toilet complex on the Baramulla-Handwara highway near Watergam.
