To fill vacant seats, in house exams to be conducted in NIT

Srinagar, Jun 13 (KNS): To fill the vacant seats in NIT Srinagar, the in house examination will be conducted after NSR conducted by CCMN-19 while as the authorities have uploaded the syllabus as well as the forms for the aspiring candidates on the website.

Since due to many reasons, most of the seats in M.sc Physics programme at NIT Srinagar used to remain vacant and the Director Prof. Rakesh Sehgal has been kind to grant permission to fill the vacant seats by conducting the in house examination after NSR conducted by CCMN-19, a statement issued to KNS reads.

Application forms have been uploaded and syllabi too. Interested Science graduates from J & K are informed to download the application for M.Sc Physics from the institute web site (www.nitsri.ac.in) and submit the same before 30th of June 2019, Dr. Shah M A said in the statement.

Besides, he said Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is an all-India online entrance exam conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) each year on a rotational basis on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. IIT JAM exam is conducted in seven Science subjects (also referred to as test papers) in order to provide admission to candidates in MSc and other post-bachelor courses offered at IITs and integrated PhD courses offered at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

Several NITs, including NIT Srinagar also accept JAM scores for MSc in Physics, the programme launched by the Dr. Shah M A in year 2015.

In order to fulfill IIT JAM eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates). It may be noted that the aggregate marks should be without rounding off and take into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries. For IIT JAM registrations, candidates need to apply for the exam in the online mode. Candidates need to visit the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) link present on the official website of the exam. (KNS)
