Sopore, May 24 (KNS):  Thyroid surgies are now a routine surgery at SDH Sopore, which are done by Dr Farooq the only ENT Specialist posted at said hospital.
Pertinently poor patients were previously going to SMHS or SKIMS for the same procedure.
Thyroid surgery is performed for several reasons and can include symptomatic thyroid nodules, thyroid cysts, goitre, and  thyroid cancer. 
The purpose of thyroid surgery is to remove part or all of the thyroid gland.
Dr Farooq is an astute ENT Specialist with refined and precise surgical hand said president Doctors Association Kashmir Dr Suhail Naik.
Besides doing all tough surgies related to Ear and Nose, Dr Farooq is also operating on tough thyroid swellings that too at Sub district hospital, Dr Naik added. The said doctor is like messiah for poor patients , who can't afford such surgies in a private set up. (KNS)
