 Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNS): Three Militants of Hizbul-Mujahideen were killed in an encounter in Zainapora Shopian on Monday.

 
Reports said acting on a tip off, a joint team of army, CRPF and Police launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Zainapora village of Shopian early morning.
 
A police official told KNS, that militants tried to break the cordon which resulted in killing of three militants in a brief encounter. 
 
The killed militants have been identified as Jehangir Ahmed Malik of Achan pulwama, Adil Bashir Spo turned militant, resident of Zainapora and Waseem Ahmed Wani of Herpora Nagbal Shopian.
 
DGP Dilbagh Singh during a presser in PCR here termed the killing of militants as most successful operation of this year.  
 
“They killed militants were involved in killing of 4 civilians and 4 policemen,” he said.
 
Notably, Adil Bashir , SPO  turned Militant had decamped with seven rifles from residence of PDP MLA Ajaz Ahmed Mir where he was posted on escort duty.
