Srinagar, Jan 08 (KNS): A day after Prime minister of Norway, Erna Solberg claimed that her country was willing to mediate between India and Pakistan to solve Kashmir issue, the State congress on Tuesday said that intervention of third party in bilateral issue is not acceptable.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Ghulam Ahmad Mir told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that both India and Pakistan have agreed that the Kashmir issue is a bilateral issue and the third party intervention will not be accepted to both the countries.
“There are many leaders and countries who offered to mediate in Kashmir issue between the two countries but their offered was rejected,” he said, adding that it has to be seen on whose directions Norway is offering it.
“I don’t feel there will be any result in case Norway will mediate in this issue,” he said, adding that it has to be decided by Government of India whether they want to stick with the bilateral issue.
About Solberg’s statement that there can be no military solution to Kashmir, Mir said that all the mainstream political parties including Congress which remained in the forefront have already said that Kashmir can’t be dealt with military. It is a political issue and must be resolved politically,” he said. (KNS)
