Srinagar, Dec 07 (KNS) : M.Y.Tarigami, State President, Centre of India Trade Unions, J&K(CITU) urged the government to establish a Labour Sarai in Anantnag and Kulgam as unorganised work force in the twin district headquarters continue to face daily hardships without basic facilities.

Similarly, labourers in Kulgam town and those arriving from outside J&K face the same difficulties and there is an urgent need to address these basic requirements. The present situation is unacceptable and calls for a responsible administrative response.

He urged the administration to establish a Labour Sarai in Anantnag near the Reshi Shrine and another in Kulgam town with facilities for safe accommodation, drinking water, sanitation, first aid and an information kiosk for employment guidance and legal aid. These steps are essential for the welfare and protection of the labour community.(KNS)
