Jammu, Feb 08 (KNS): While raising the issue of landowners having provided land for construction of Panchayat ghars across the state in the Legislative Assembly today, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that despite assurances by the successive governments for their engagement as Mali-cum-Chowkdars nothing has practically been done so far.
"These landowners have provided their fertile and precious land on the assurance that they will be engaged in its lieu of the land but the assurance still awaits fulfillment. These landowners have been moving from pillar to post over these years but nothing has been done for their engagement till date, as a result of this they feel dejected by the attitude of the successive governments", he said.
Highlighting this issue, he demanded that the cases of these landowners for engagement as Mali-cum-Chowkidars should be taken up expeditiously so that their hardships are minimized at the earliest. (KNS)
