Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNS): The Peoples Democratic Party’s additional spokesperson Tahir Syeed hailed the decision of Government of India (GOI) to expand the railway link up to the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Tahir Syeed said that this decision will boost the economy of this frontier district and will help the business community of Kupwara to dispatch horticulture produces to other parts of the country.
“Realization of railway connectivity to Kupwara is a result of constant endeavors of Mehbooba Mufti .During public outreach program at Kupwara the then CM Mehbooba Mufti had committed publicly that she will take up the this issue with GoI at the highest levels and will personally follow up on the progress made,” he said.
Tahir further said that Mehbooba Mufti had vehemently also raised the construction of Sadhna Tunnel with GoI and was assured its expedited progress so that Karnah region gets all weather connectivity.
“People of Karnah eagerly await the formal notice from GoI so that they can also breathe in a sigh of relief,” he added. (KNS)
