Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNS): The Teachers Joint Action Committee headed by Ab Qayoom Wani and called on Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie at his office at church Lane Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by Director School education Kashmir Gh Nabi Itoo, OSD to Advisor Masala and other officers.
In the meeting issues of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA trs, Head trs and RMSA Masters, Headmasters remained the focus besides linking of the salaries from MHRD to state sector was discussed threadbare.
In the meeting leaders of Teachers Joint Action Committee put forth their view point on justified, legal and moral grounds. Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie was positive enough for redressel of 7th Pay Commission issue and agreed the legal justification of this issue.
The meeting ended in a positive manner with the hope that Govt. will speed up the process for immediate redressal of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA trs, Head trs and RMSA Masters, Headmasters.
Wani thanked Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie for his serious concern towards the issue and thanked him for his teacher friendly approach.
The TJAC leadership decided to continue its indefinite hunger strike programme besides peaceful protest program to be held on 23 September from Pratap Park Sgr to Rajbhawan.
Wani reiterated the stand that Teachers Joint Action Committee will continue hunger strike till the concrete decision regarding the issue is not taken.
Wani expressed his hope that Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie who is also holding the portfolio of Education Department will put his all efforts for immediate redressal of 7th Pay Commission issue so that teaching fraternity will have a sigh of relief instead of hitting the roads.
Wani appealed teaching fraternity irrespective of cadre, position and status to be united and show solidarity with SSA teachers, head teachers and RMSA Masters for implementation of their legitimate right of 7th Pay Commission and linking of their salaries with State sector. Senior leaders of TJAC, Gazi Ab Aziz, Mohd Rafeeq Rather, Mohd Afzal Bhat,Shah Fayaz, Saleem Sagar, Pir Nisar Ahmad, Parvaiz Iqbal Shah, Qayoom sanie, Khursheed Ah Mir, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Hatim Qayoom, Majid Hussain, Shah Aashiq, and others were in the meeting.
