Officers denied access to records, people fume over Govt apathy

Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): The strike of clerks in all the field offices of all the government departments has crippled the normal activity in government offices including the offices of Deputy Commissioners, Directorates of key departments and field offices.
Official sources confirmed to KNS that the clerks in almost all the departments are continuing their strike for the last more than fifteen days over their demand on pay anomaly.
The government is yet to respond to the demand of the protesting clerks despite the disruption in the normal work in government offices.
An official in the office of Deputy Commissioner Budgam on conditions of anonymity told KNS “the clerks are keeping their rooms locked and consequently the officers attending their duties as usual are unable to have access to the records required for quick disposal of the cases.”
The people present in the Deputy Commissioner Budgam’s office told KNS that they have been coming to the deputy commissioner’s office for the last fifteen days but we are told that cases can’t be processed and settled due to the strike observed by clerks over the pay anomaly issue for the last fifteen days.
