Sri-Jmu National Highway thrown open from one way traffic

 Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNS):   The traffic on Srinagar Jammu national highway on Friday   thrown open for the Light Motor Vehicles after reaming closed for five days , the road was closed for vehicular traffic on Monday after heavy snowfall across the Kashmir valley.

SP Rural Muzzafar Shah Told Kashmir News Service that the road was thrown open for the LMV vehicles after the snow was cleared from the road, he also said several Heavy Motor Vehicles who were stranded on the highway were allowed to move form Jammu towards Srinagar.
He said subject to weather the traffic will be allowed to move from opposite direction on Saturday, the officer further appealed the commuters not to start their journey from the either side of the road before knowing the status of the highway.
The road got blocked several times this year due snowfall and landsides in many places on the national highway.
The closer of highway has led shortage of essential things in Kashmir valley as the valley is running out of LPG gas and other essential goods.
The closer of road of road has also hiked the prices of essential goods in Kashmir valley (KNS).
