Handwara, Mar 23 (KNS): Social Forestry department, Division Kupwara on Saturday continued its plantation drive at various places in Handwara.
SFD with the advent of spring in Kashmir the department has launched a massive plantation drive in the valley. In this connection various degraded forest areas, community waste lands, road side verges and open spaces in various government-cum-private institutions are being planted with ornamental, avenue plants and conifers.
DFO Social Forestry Kupwara told KNS that Social Forestry division Kupwara is going to plant more than one lac plants in this year in district Kupwara
He said that the plantation drive will continue throughout the month.
Others who were also present during the plantation drive at the Children Park Handwara and by-pass road include DFO social forestry division Kupwara Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, ADC Handwara Gulzar Ahmad, SDPO Handwara Tariq Mahmood and media fraternity. (KNS)
