Say authorities fail to repair damaged transformer

Srinagar, Jan 12 (KNS): The residents of Shah Wilayat Colony Sector 8 of Zainakote are up in arms against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to repair their damaged transformer from past one week.
A delegation comprising of locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that their transformer developed technical snag some eight days ago but the department showed least concern to repair the damaged transformer from last one week.
They said that authorities in the PDD department are pushing the inhabitants to reel under darkness in the bone chilling cold. “The situation in the harsh winters got worsened in our area due to the callous attitude of the PDD officials,” they said
The residents said that the PDD officials took the damaged transformer some five days ago but have failed to repair it so far, resulting in immense hardships to the inhabitants.
Inhabitants appealed the PDD Chief Engineer, Shahnaz Goni to look into the matter and redress their grievances at an earliest.
However, Goni informed KNS that the transformer has been sent to the area just a few minutes before. “I talked to the officials just now and directed them to send the transformer to the Shah Wilayat Colony,” she informed. (KNS)
