Srinagar, Jun 18 (KNS): Expressing shock over the inhuman murder of veteran journalist, Syed Shujaat Bukhari, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Monday said that brutal killing of Shujaat Bukhari is an irreparable loss to Kashmir.
A JKDFP delegation went to Kreeri, and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
The delegation as per the statement issued to KNS, was led by Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar who told the audience that jailed JKDFP chief Shabir Shah has expressed shock over the brutal murder of Shujaat Bukhari.
He said that Shabir Shah in his condolence message from Tihar jail, Delhi has termed the killing of Shujaat Bukhari as his personal loss. “Shujaat Bukhari was an asset and to eliminate such a man of great intellect is undoubtedly the result of some conspiracy, Fayaz Sodagar said while quoting his incarcerated party chief, Shabir Shah,” he said.
JKDFP delegation while paying tributes to the noted journalist of sub-continent said that his role as a professional will always be remembered. “Those who killed Shujaat Bukhari had an aim to damage the Kashmiri society on intellectual front,” the statement added.
“Shujaat Bukhari’s killing has proved that unknown gunmen are enemies to Kashmir and Kashmiri cause so their activities should be condemned in one voice. Had the vicious activities of unknown gunmen been checked initially they would not have gather courage to kill the most prominent person of journalism in Kashmir. But it is unfortunate that unknown gunmen are being secured at government level since last three decades,” it added.
JKDFP prayed for the deceased soul and expressed solidarity and condolences with the bereaved family especially Shujaat Bukhari’s father. (KNS)
