Srinagar Nov 23 (KNS): Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman, Mohd Ashraf Sehrai said that the south Kashmir belt has been subjected to ‘ruthless military offensive and the cost has been devastating, in terms of innocent human casualties as well as infrastructure’.
Sehrai in a statement issued to KNS said that “Kashmiris have been slaughtered with the most horrible weapons, including bulldozing and demolish their homes over their heads.”
He said that the people of Kashmir were being victimized to quell their struggle for realization of their legitimate right to self-determination.
Paying tributes to the slain Bijbehara militants and expressed pain and grief and prayed for the patience of the grieved families.
Sehrai said, “The supreme sacrifices of our sons are the biggest human investment of our ongoing freedom struggle. The priceless sacrifices of Kashmiri youth will always be safeguarded.”
Chairman TeH said that “Indian machinery has shamelessly used all kinds of oppressive policies to silence the voice and destroy the will of Kashmiri people through use of torture, arbitrary arrests and unlawful killing of thousands of innocent civilians including women and children that are indicative of war crimes.”
“Indian government and its predecessors have ruthlessly implemented a systematic and comprehensive military, political, religious, economic, and cultural onslaught with the intent to destroy, demoralize and silence the legitimate demand of freedom from occupation,” he said, adding that but “the way Kashmiri people have remained firm and steadfast in their just movement for right to self determination despite facing colossal persecution and atrocities of all sorts at the hands of Indian troops is really commendable and beyond imagination.”
Sehrai asked world community to take notice of HR violations in occupied valley and urges to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue in accordance with the UNSC resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, Sehrai strongly condemned the ‘terror’ act in Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, in which more than 30 people were killed and injuring over 40.
He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He called the perpetrators as the enemies of peace in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders headed by General Secretary Ameer Hamzah Shah and accompanied by Mohd Rafiq Owaisi, Mehraj Din Rabbani, Imtiyaz Haider, Rameez Raja participated in the protest demonstration held at Sarai Bala Srinagar over the killing of Mir Hafizullah.
In his speech, Ameer Hamzah strongly condemned this barbaric act and blamed hidden hands who have govt patronage behind this murder.
He said “before this incident Mir Hafizullah brought it to the notice of concerned police station and his party Chairman that his life is in danger. He was getting threatening calls but police ignored his complaint.”
Moreover, General Sec Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Mir Hafizullah participated in condolence meeting yesterday held at Mir Hafizullah’s home Achabal.
In his address, he said that Mir Hafizullah was a brave son of soil who despite many adversities remained steadfast to the cause. “Since 2004 when he joined Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Mir Hafizullah through his valiant efforts in the fields of resistance politics and social service achieved a high place in history of Kashmir. He played a exemplary role during 2008/2010/2016 mass uprisings which unnerve agencies.”
“In his death, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and Kashmir freedom struggle has lost an outstanding leader who worked for Kashmir cause since decades tirelessly and chose to fight occupation with outmost commitment, conviction and dedication, which cannot be forgotten,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sehrai expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Gh Hassan Nikoo of Devar Lolab and mother of Mohd Amin Sofi of Kupwara and son of Gh Mohd Sheikh Kupwara after a brief illness at SKIMS hospital.
Sehrai extended his condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity and sympathy at this hour of grief. (KNS)
