Plans to maintain a robust counter militancy grid in hinterland were discussed

Srinagar, Jul 17 (KNS): A security review meeting at the district level was held at District Police Lines, Kulgam to review the overall security situation and to draw out the future security strategy.
The security review was carried out by Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander, Dr SP Vaid, Director General of Police J&K, GOC Victor Force and IGP J&K.
The same was attended by the concerned Commanding Officers and SSPs apart from others.
The primary aim of the Review was to further strengthen the existing synergy among the Army, JKP, CRPF and other security agencies.
During the deliberations on the overall security situation, the plans to maintain a robust counter militancy grid in the hinterland were discussed. The aspects of sharing of intelligence, joint planning, situational awareness and flow of information were deliberated upon.
The local commanders also briefed on the current situation on ground, challenges being faced and the measures to be instituted to enhance efficacy of Counter militancy operations.
The Chinar Corps Commander and DGP also emphasized on maintaining a high level of preparedness to deal with the militant initiated incidents and highlighted on the combined efforts to effectively counter such incidents. (KNS)
