Srinagar, Mar 20 (KNS): Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah today through a video conference from Civil Secretariat Jammu reviewed the arrangements put in place for the celebration of cleanliness week in the schools of the State and also took stock of the Education facilities provided to far flung areas of the State like Keran, Machil, Tangdar, Gurez, Wailoo, Sinthan Kishtwar, Kaltoora, Sonbrari and other areas. The video conference was attended by Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo and Chief Education Officers of many districts.
Secretary Education stressed on providing sufficient teaching staff to the schools in these areas. He said that we can expect good results from the schools only when we provide them with sufficient and quality teaching staff.
Secretary Education directed Directors of School Education Kashmir and Jammu to tour the schools and see the arrangements put in place for the celebration of cleanliness week. Director School Education Kashmir briefed Secretary Education about the education facilities in far flung areas of the Valley. Chief Education Officer, Bandipora briefed Secretary Education about the Education facilities in Gurez and Chief Education Officers of Kishtwar, Budgam, Kupwara, Doda, Anantnag and Kathua gave details about the far flung areas of their Districts. Secretary directed all CEOs to keep three days in a week to personally monitor the teaching learning process in schools. He further directed them to expedite the process of the engagement of teachers for academic arrangement on temporary basis. He also directed all concerned to take necessary steps for maintaining good health of students and establishing herbal gardens in the schools. He stressed that students should not suffer because of the shortage of the teaching staff in the schools and directed all the CEOs to expedite the process of engagement of teachers on academic arrangement.
Following the instructions from Secretary Education via Video conference Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo along with senior officers of the department visited BHSS Batamaloo and other adjoining schools to see the arrangements of the celebration of Cleanliness week and also interacted with the staff and students of the schools regarding the arrangements of the cleanliness week. Director School Education Kashmir directed all the Head of the Institutions to follow the calender issued by the Department for the celebration of Cleanliness week and also communicate the same to the department.
Students and teachers from Ganderbal, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara and other Districts of the State took active part in Cleanliness drive in the schools. (KNS)
