Takes review of Education sector in Kulgam

Jammu, Mar 08 (KNS): Department of Education is committed to provide Educational facilities to far flung and backward areas of the State and for this purpose on the directions of Minister for Education Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari stock of the facilities is being taken from time to time.
In the same context today Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah in a High Level meeting in the winter capital, Jammu at Civil Secretariat took review of the functioning of the Education Department in Kulgam Constituency. MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami was also present in the meeting who appraised Secretary Education about the various matters regarding the Department of Education in his constituency. Secretary Education assured MLA Kulgam that necessary and immediate steps will be taken in this regard. He directed all concerned officials to take necessary steps regarding the literacy rate in the area raised by MLA Kulgam. The matters which were discussed during the meeting were the availability of teaching staff, strengthening of basic infrastructure, training of teachers, implementation of SSA and RMSA schemes and many other important aspects.
He stressed upon all the concerned officers to make the functioning of the Department smooth in the area and to make the teaching staff available in all the schools of the area. He directed Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo to ensure the framing of calendar for the conduct of different teacher trainings and other activities by the Principal, DIET Kulgam. This will benefit students through well trained teachers.
Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah also took stock of the functioning of SSA and RMSA schemes in the area and directed the concerned to take necessary steps for the effective implementation of the schemes.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Secretary Masrat ul Islam, Additional Secretary Ali Afsar Khan, Deputy Secretary Muhammad Akbar Bhat, Financial Advisor Mahesh Chander, officers from SSA and RMSA and other concerned officers. (KNS)
