Various works under Amrut, World Bank aid discussed

Srinagar, Nov 11 (KNS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner, Riyaz Ahmed Wani Saturday held a meeting with the entire drainage wing to review the pace of ongoing various civil and drainage works.
According to the statement issued to KNS, during the course of meeting, various works under Amrut and World Bank aid were discussed at line and length.
The meeting informed that Indra Nagar storm water drainage scheme, Lal Chowk, Mallagagh, Gangbukh, Shalteng are in progress under Amrut scheme whereas under world bank financial aid for various works to be taken under Jhelum and Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP).
Three works have already been put to tender and in addition to this 49 dewatering stations are to be upgraded which is under process of bidding.
Further, procurement of diesel engine driven pump sets with towing vehicle at an estimated cost of RS 5.58 crores are in process.
In addition to this, it was informed that the consultant that has been engaged by Housing and Urban Development Department has already prepared the detailed project report for Naaz Colony Sonwar, Nadru Hyderpora, Doodgangah and some missed links and few left over works in and arround the existing pumping stations.
These DPR's shall be handed over to World Bank and Project management Unit for its approval.
Commissioner SMC while taking review has passed instructions to go with the speedy disposal of ongoing works and ensure timely completion of these works.
He further said that the subordinate engineers who do not ensure quality and timely completion of works shall be strictly dealt with. (KNS)
