M.M.Shuja has filed complaint before SHRC for probe

Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): The State Human Rights Commission today ordered investigation by its own SP into the killings of civilians in April during poll day of parliamentary elections in Budgam and Ganderbal.
SHRC Chairman Justice Bilal Nazki today directed that the since the authorities have failed to order investigation into the killings, it will investigate the killings itself.
Nazki directed the SP SHRC to investigate the whole matter and complete the inquiry within three months.
M.M.Shuja, Chairman Centre for Peace and Protection of Human Rights has filed a complaint before SHRC to direct police for investigating the killings of civilians in April during poll day of parliamentary elections.
However, the SHRC maintained that the authorities did not file report after the complaint was submitted before the commission and notice was issued to the authorities to file report seven months before.
Eight civilians were killed on polling day in Budgam and Ganderbal when parliamentary elections were held on April 9 for Srinagar parliamentary constituency. (KNS)
