Srinagar, May 30 (KNS): Peoples Conference Provincial President and ex MLA Mohammad Abbas Wani on Thursday appealed to the Governor administration to release pending salaries of Sarpanchs and Panchs before Eid.

“Despite putting their lives at risk for participating in the Panchayat Elections, the Panchs and Sarpanchs are without salaries for the last 3 months. The Governor administration should look into this matter on priority and release the pending salaries of Panchs and Sarpanchs before Eid”, PC Provincial President Mohammad Abbas Wani said in a statement.

He also said that the Governor administration should take into account the security threat of Panchs and Sarcpanchs working at grass-roots level and provide adequate security and accommodation to the Panchs and Sarpanchs. (KNS)
