Rehbar-e-Khel aspirants allege nepotism, favoritism in selection list in Bandipora

Bandipora, Jan 11 (KNS): Scores of Rehbar-e-Khel candidates here on today alleged that Recent Recruitment list issued by Directorate Youth Service and Sports for various zones of district is unfair, said that qualified and deserved candidates have been dropped from the list which is sheer injustice with us.
Scores of Rehbar-e-Khel candidates told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that deserved and qualified candidates have been left out from the selection list. They said that blue-eyed candidates as well as political well influenced persons were selected, where qualified and deserved ones dropped out from the selection list.
Candidates raised questions over the selection process by administration, saying that the whole selection process is simply eyewash.
One of the dropped candidate Sajad Ahmad Mir told KNS that there is favoritism in the selection and political influenced candidates were selected, while showing door to the deserved aspirants. He said that, I was shocked to see my name missing in the final selection list while others whose names even didn’t figure were selected in the list.
Another candidate Irshad Ahmad said that I am two times International Gold Medalist and six times gold medalist, despite that we left out from the list, alleged that deserving candidates ignored while as undeserving candidates through various means were selected. He also alleged that selection was not done on the basis of merit but nepotism. He said we were dropped from the list for no reasons.
Prominent footballer of district Tahir Hussain Beigh Said that the merit was put into dustbin and the adjustment were made on political influence thus leaving the poor and non influential to lurch. I was surprised and shocked when I saw that I left out from the selection list.
Candidates alleged that we tried to call on administration in this regard, and went from pillar to post, but no vial and we were not allowed to meet. Candidates appealed DC Bandipora, Governor Satyapal Malik to intervene in the matter.
When contacted CEO Bandipora Javid Munshi, who also holds additional charge of Youth service and sports, refuted the allegations and said that selected ones by selection committee members and the selection process was fair, there were proper guidelines in the interview of candidates conducted by selection committee.
