Jammu, Jan 09 (KNS): Raising a point of order NC MLA Devender Singh Rana raised the issue of indirect elections and issuance of notification for the conduct of Panchayat polls on January 12.
According to the KNS correspondent, replying to the questions raised by Devender Singh Rana, the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Abdul Haq Khan told the house "We shouldn't believe in reports appearing in news papers but in decisions taken by the house and the cabinet. The decision on conduct of polls will be announced after taking Assembly into confidence and Cabinet will take a final call. So far the government has not taken any decision. As regards the indirect elections Haq said "indirect elections were held by every regime and would be held on the same pattern this time also." (KNS)
