Qayoom Wani demands immediate restoration of irrigation facilities to farmers

Srinagar, Jun 14 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Qayoom Wani showed serious concern over the damage of Lalpora, Manglora canal of Tangmarg by flash floods in Ferozpora nallah.

In a statement issued to KNS, Wani said that due to the damage of this irrigation canal thousands of kanals of paddy land has been damaged.

He said that delay in restoration of water to this canal can have serious effects on the paddy crop.

PDP leader also urged upon the state administration for immediate repairing of all the canals damaged by Flash Floods in the valley so that Farmers may not face any difficulty.

He urged upon the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla (Dr G N Itoo) and Chief Engineer Irrigation for restoring the water to this canal at war footing basis to avoid any damage to the Paddy crop so that the farmers of concerned villages, Batpora, Manglora and Lalpora may have a sigh of relief.

Wani said that I have taken up this issue with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and Chief Engineer irrigation and they have assured me for immediate action in this regard. (KNS)
