Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNS): A pro-freedom leader was Tuesday killed by the unidentified gunmen in Achabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The slain pro-freedom leader was identified as Hafizullah Mir at Budoora Achabal.
Police however said that the slain pro-freedom leader was killed by the militants, saying that they barged inside the residential house of Mir at Budoora Achabal district Anantnag and fired indiscriminately.
“In this incident, Mir sustained critical gunshot wounds and was evacuated to nearby hospital where he succumbed. Reportedly his wife also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at the nearby hospital,” police said.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered while as investigation in the matter has been initiated, police said. (KNS)
