Political Process To Be Resumed Soon, Elections To Be Held In 2021: Ashok Koul

Srinagar, June 23 (KNS): BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul on Tuesday asserted that political process will resume soon in J&K as elections to be most probably held in 2021.

Talking exclusively to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Koul said political activities across J&K will be resumed soon as steps in this regard have been initiated.

He said the central government has already constituted Delimitation Commission which is being headed by former Supreme Court Judge. He also said that steps needed in resumption of political process in Jammu and Kashmir has been started.

Koul said the Election Commission (EC) has already directed all Deputy ommissioner's (DCs) to expedite further work in this regard and take the mission to its logical end. "In this process 90 seats to be delimited followed by elections which most probably to be held on 2021", BJP leader stated.

He asserted that election in newly carved out UT would be held during first half of 2021.

When asked about the territory controlled by Pakistan, Koul claimed that "Parts held by Pakistan including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Gilgit, Baltistan etc are parts of J&K and the new map introduced by Central Government has showed these parts as integral parts of J&K". (KNS)
