Bandipora, Feb 22 (KNS): Continuing its drive against drug menace, Police in Bandipora District of Northern Kashmir have arrested Nine notorious drug peddlers and recovered huge quantity of Notorious drug and Psychotropic substances from them worth lakhs of rupees.
Police said that most of them are distributers and dearest hailing from different areas of Bandipora District. In this Regard Police have Registered three FIR's against these nine people as; FIR No. 25/2018 U/S 08/22, 29 NDPS Act against Bilal Ahmad Bhat Son Abdul Ahad Bhat Resident Boitingoo Sopore, Mumtaz Ahmad Khan Son of Gh Ahmad Khan Resident of Boitingoo Sopore, Khursheed Ahmad Khan Son Mohammad Sayed Khan Resident of Pamzigam Bandipora, FIR No. 26/2018 U/S 08/22,22 NDPS Act against Waheed Ahmad Ganie son of Noor Mohammad Ganie Resident of Hajin, Suhail Ahmad Rather son of Bashir Ahmad Rather Resident of Saderkoot, Farhat Bashir Baba Son of Bashir Ahmad Baba, FIR No. 27/2018 U/S 08/22, 22 NDPS Act against Sadam Hussain Shah Son of Gh Rasool Shah Resident of Kaloosa, Rayees Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Ahmad Bhat Resident of Aloosa, Tahir Rashid Matta Son of Abdul Rashid Matta Resident of Ashtingoo.
In all these cases the nacrotic Drug and Psyschotrophic substances which include Citizen Phosphate 16 Bottles and Dposmoproxmon 7000/- Capsules have been Recovered from their Possession so far and according to police different teams have been set for further investigation under the supervision of SSP Bandipora.
While Sharing details with Media Persons, the SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfikar Azad said we are very serious and working hard from last one year to curb the drug paddling menace in the nook and corner of District. He appealed the common people to be aware against such people and to co operate with police to curb this menace . He said that on directions of Chief Minister, a drug de-addiction centre has been sanctioned for the district Which will start working very soon.
Azad appealed the local population to assist the police in its special drive so as to make the whole Bandipora District drug Free. Azad appealed the parents of addicted youth to come forward so that their future can be saved.
Meanwhile, local people of the area have eulogized and appreciated the role of police for launching effective campaign against drug peddlers and sale of psychotropic substances which according to them are adversely affecting and involving the local youth of the area.
Pertinent to Mention that Special Task Force has been constituted in the district under the overall Supervision of SSP Bandipora to crunchy the menace of drug peddling in the District. (KNS)
