Demands action against ‘arrogant officer’

Srinagar, Dec 02 (KNS): Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Saturday held an emergency meeting at its Provincial office Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the leadership of its president, Ab. Qayoom Wani.
According to the statement issued to KNS, in the meeting, physical assault on forester Bashir Ahmad by DFO Baramulla Waseem Farooq was threadbare discussed.
Wani termed the incident inhuman and said “this kind of action by the senior officer speaks volumes of his power arrogance.”
He said that all the government employees from class IV to Chief Secretary are governed by CSR and nobody is above law. “Any action taken by any officer against his junior beyond CSR is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated at any cost,” he said.
Wani said that employees are not bonded labours, they deserve respect and love from seniors for the smooth functioning of institutions to come up to the expectations of common people.
Wani urged upon the forest minister, Chief Secretary, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Conservator Forest and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla to take strong note of the incident and demanded that action should be initiated against the officer involved in the incident at an earliest.
“We are not against the senior officers, we love, respect and represent them also when they need our help and we supported them in difficult times. History is witness when ever our seniors are humiliated by their higher ups and politicians we strongly protested for their honour and dignity but it does not mean that any officer will take his employees as bonded labours and will become a patient of power arrogance,” Wani said.
Wani said that such type of arrogance will be dealt with iron hands by employees of Jammu and Kashmir under the banner of EJAC.
He said that “we are in close contact with the non gazetted forest officers association, social forestry employees association and EJAC leaders and today’s protest at DFO office Baramulla against this incident is timely reaction against the incident.”
He said that EJAC will fully support any move taken by non gazetted forest officer’s association lead by its president Mir Nazeer.
Wani also urged upon Chief Minister for her personal intervention and demanded strong action against the officer so that such type of incidents may not occur in future.
EJAC leaders Amrik Singh, Ganesh Khajuria, Syed Wajahat Hussain, Peer Nisar, Jagdish Sharma, Darshan Sharma, Paranjeet Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Krishan Singh, Jamaiat Ali Aga, Vinod Sharma, Deedar Singh, Yograj, Kuldeep, Lal Singh, Surinder Kumar, Shair Mohd, Vijay Kumar and others were present in the meeting.
