Patient care hit, CHC Kralgund faces shortage of doctors

 Srinagar, Jan 06 (KNS): Residents of Kralgund in north Kashmir’sHandwara on Monday complained about the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in Community Health Centre KralgundQaziabad.

 
They said that due to shortage of doctors and paramedical staff, patients have to wait for long to avail medical consultation facilities.
 
They demanded augmentation of staff as is the provision for Sub District Hospitals in the state.  
 
“Our hospital is registered CHC only in documents but the facilities in the hospital are below PHC centres.
 
A patient of the area told KNS that he visited the hospital on Monday and it took him more than half hours to avail medical consultation from doctor.
 
The residents said in absence of the doctors in the hospital they face problems and most of the times they prefer to visit hospitals in other areas.
 
They locals alleged that due to shortage of men and machinery, no surgery has been conducted there ever.
 
However, when contacted Block Medical Officer Langate, he said there is shortage of doctors in block as the man power has not been sanctioned to the hospital, he however said he will tookup the matter with concerned quarters.(KNS).
