Police has given huge sacrifices for peace, normalcy in state: Mehbooba

Jammu, Jan 14 (KNS): The attestation cum passing out parade of 13th BRTC batch of Constables was held today at Subsidiary Training Centre, Talwara. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was the chief guest on this occasion who inspected the parade and took salute.
911 Recruit Constables most of whom, 715 have been selected through Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) passed out after completion of their basic training.
Among others Ajay Nanda, MoS (Finance and Planning, Information Technology, Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, CA&PD, Tribal Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation and L&Emp), top civil, army, para military and police officers attended the passing out parade.
Speaking on this occasion Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti while wishing luck to the passing out constables for facing the challenges ahead said that J&K Police has given huge sacrifices for peace and normalcy in the state. She said that the educational profile of the passing out constables shows that the transparent recruitment process adopted for selection of Constables is bearing fruits.
In his address DGP Dr. S.P Vaid thanked the Chief Minister for approving the welfare measures for the police department because of which record number of promotions was possible. He said that procurement of vehicles and safety gadgets has been made for keeping police personnel safe and secure. DGP while highlighting the fight against drugs said that 34 drug peddlers/ criminals have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA). He said that a number of youth engagement programmes have been organised for channelizing the energies of the young people.
While referring to the community policing DGP said that 1704 police community partnership groups (PCPG) meetings were organised in 2017.
In his welcome address Principal STC Talwara Sh. Anil Kumar Katoch give a brief resume of the trainings imparted to the Recruit Constables, he said that special classes on human rights, crime against women were also organised.
Constable Altaf Hussain Malik was adjudged all round best Trainee and was granted out of turn promotion. He was decorated with Sg.Ct.rank on the spot by Hon’ble Chief Minister and DGP J&K.
Constable Tanveer Ahmad and Mairaj-U-Din were declared 2nd and 3rd All Round best and were awarded with Commendation Certificate Class I along with cash reward of rupees ten thousand and seventy five hundered respectively. Constable Bilal Akbar Bhat, Constable Imran Khan and Vinay Kumar secured Position in Indoor, Outdoor and Range classification respectively and were also awarded cash reward of rupees seventy five hundred each along with the commendation certificate Class I. Parade commanders Suhail Ahmad and Mujeer Ahmad Malik were also awarded with cash reward of rupees five thousand and three thousand along with Commendation certificate. (KNS)
