Pakistani wives of ex-Kashmiri militants plead for their return or citizenship

Srinagar, Jul 12 (KNS): Continuing to press for their demands, the Pakistani wives of former militants who had returned to Kashmir along with their Kashmiri husbands under a rehabilitation scheme Friday appealed the State as well as the central governments to grant them citizenship or deport them back to Pakistan.

Addressing a presser here at Kashmir Press Club, the Pakistani wives said that at least 350 women had come to Kashmir in 2010 along with their husbands under rehabilitation policy announced by Omar Abdullah led regime.

“We are no facing hardships as we are neither being given the citizenship nor being deported back,” they said, appealing the state as well as central government to take steps in this regard to ensure their sufferings are come to an end.

The Pakistani women alleged that they are being denied of their rights, saying that they should be allowed to meet their families in Pakistan.

Earlier, the Pakistani wives of former Kashmiri militants also staged protests here to press for their demands. (KNS)
