Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): The 7th General Meeting of Private Schools' Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) was today held at Green Valley Educational Institute to elect Working Council for the smooth functioning of the Association.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the meeting also discussed ways to upgrade the quality of education, make education child-centric, quickly respond to grievances and take the education sector in tune with global needs.
During the meeting nine working councils were formed. Mr Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo of Bilaliya Educational Institute was elected as Chairman of Moral Education and Environmental Council with Mr Mubashir Wafai of Oasis Group, Dr Suhail Chowdhary of Iqra Educational Institute, Mr Amir of IGS and Mr Khursheed Distt. President Kulgam as members.
Shabir A Mir of R.P Schools was elected as Chairman Finance Council with M. Yousuf Kochey of JK Public School, Imran of legends school, Bilal of Hamza Edu Institute and Qaiser of Orange international as members.
Khurshid Mahajan was appointed as Chairman Discipline Council with Mohammad Yousuf of GVEI, Mansoor of Oak Hill and Rahi Riyaz of Rahi Public School as members.
Imran was elected as Chairman Academic Calendar Council with Mohammad Yousuf of GVEI and Shabir of RP School and M Yousuf Kochey as members.
Prof Altaf Ahmad was appointed as Chairman Syllabus Council with Mr Shabir Ahmad of R.P School and Riyaz Katjoo of GVEI as members.
Dr Hameed was elected as Convener State Education Council with Dr Qazii S Azher, Chairman Scientific Review Committee, Michigan State University, USA and Dr Anees Ahmad, Director Salmiya Model School, Kuwait as members
M Y Wani of Green Valley Educational Institute was elected as Chairman Extra Curricular Activities Council with Mr Bilal of Hamza Edu institute and Mr Ather of CMP School as members.
Ab Majid Bhat was appointed as Chairman Grievance Council with Khurshid Mahajan and Shabir of R.P School as members.
Waseem Hanief of Solace International School was elected as Chairman Media Council
The Association said that it is working overtime to make the education child-centric. "We have also kept redressal of parents and teachers on priority. If any issue crops anywhere we will resolve it at the earliest," said G N Var, president PSAJK.
The Association also reiterated its stand to make the education sector free from politicisation and commercialisation. "Our aim is to continuously work for updation of quality, transparency, and accountability," said Var. "We also seek cooperation from the general public in this regard." (KNS)
