PM Modi’s remark on ‘healing touch, hitting touch’ humiliating for Kashmiris: Mehbooba

Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in her sharp reaction to Prime Minister’s remark “hitting touch for separatists and militants, healing touch reserved for civilians” said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark is humiliating for Kashmiris as it is surprising how returning mutilated bodies of militants to families and ban on civilian traffic on national highway can be called healing touch.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), “PM in his interview claims that his approach towards Kashmir is a hitting touch to separatists & militants but a healing touch for civilians. Wondering how returning mutilated bodies of militants to families, imposing a road ban twice a week, detaining & humiliating Kashmiris is meant to be healing touch for civilians.”

As reported already that in an extremely determined re-assertion of the NDA’s zero-tolerance for militancy in Jammu & Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised those who have been advocating a soft touch towards separatists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to a direct question from TIMES NOW on Rahul Gandhi’s vow to dilute the provisions of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) to reduce the alienation of the people in the troubled state of J&K, the Prime Minister said that militants and separatists can only be dealt with a ‘hitting touch’. The ‘healing touch’, the PM said should be reserved for the civilians of the state. (KNS)
