Says party parted ways from late Mufti’s vision

Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Amira Kadal Zone president Mohammad Ashraf Dar has resigned from the basic membership of the party a day after former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari was expelled for his anti-party activities within the fold.
In a letter addressed to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, Dar has resigned from the basic membership of the party.
Below is the text of his resignation letter sent to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti:
“Sequel to the disparaging political developments especially the manner with which the party affairs are being run by the PDP leadership, it has become clear to me that I will not be able to fulfill my party responsibility henceforth as we would both wish to.”
Letter reads “during my long association with this party from year 2000 I witnessed many phases wherein this party was trying to prove as a viable political alternative for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. But unfortunately the present situation within the party especially after the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, I have come to conclusion that this party is not following the footsteps of Late Mufti Saheb and the principles for which it was established.”
Dar at the end wrote “in light of the above mentioned facts, I hereby tender resignation from my basic membership and as the Zone President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) Amirakadal constituency with effect from 20-01-2019.” (KNS)
