Cellular companies asked to throttle speed till further orders

Srinagar, Jan 28 (KNS): The government on Sunday asked the cellular operators in the Kashmir Valley to snap the high speed internet across to thwart rumour mongering and disturbances in law and order situation.
Reports inform KNS that the cellular companies have been asked to curtail the high- speed internet in Kashmir and make only 2G service available to the internet and broadband users.
Following the worrisome situation in South Kashmir’s Shopian, the government, as per reports, passed the directions to the cellular companies to throttle the internet speed in Valley till further orders.
The Joint Resistance Leader had already issued a valley vide strike call for Sunday against the killing of three youth in Shopian. The government in a bid to foil the protest demonstration imposed restrictions on peoples’ movement in various sensitive areas of Kashmir including the old city of Srinagar. (KNS)
