Srinagar, Nov 09 (KNS): Kulgam Police received credible information that some OGW’s affiliated with banned outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) have hatched a criminal conspiracy on the direction of self styled operational chief of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) Kashmir namely Riyaz Naikoo to kill Police/SF’s personnel and snatch their weapons. These OGW’s were roaming in the area from one place to another to seek a chance to attack on Police/SF’s personnel.
As per the statement issued to KNS, Police spokesman said that the self styled commander has provided weapons to these OGW’s for carrying out subversive activities in District Kulgam.
Acting on this information, Kulgam Police launched a manhunt and arrested one OGW namely Showkat Ahmad Lone resident of Charsoo affiliated with banned HM outfit. One pistol, pistol magazine and 04 pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 63/2017 under section 7/25 120-B, 307 RPC, 10, 13(2), 18, 20, 38, 39 ULAP Act stands registered in Police Station Devsar and investigation of the case is going on. More arrests are expected in coming days. (KNS)
