Srinagar, July 20 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday hailed the dedication and sacrifice of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. He said the force, from senior officers to SPOs, has shown unmatched courage and commitment to the nation. “The history of J&K Police is written with the blood of brave soldiers who gave everything for the motherland,” he said.
He spoke about the role of the police in the last five to six years, saying they have helped bring peace, strengthen national unity, and create new hope among people across the region. He added that peace and development must go hand in hand and the momentum must be maintained.
LG Sinha referred to the “Pedal to Paralyzed” Cycle Race as a meaningful step towards youth engagement. “Every pedal is a step toward a better tomorrow. It’s not just a race—it’s a message to young people affected by violence or drug addiction that a new path is possible,” he said.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), LG Sinha said the idea of a “New Jammu and Kashmir” is not a slogan but a visible change on the ground. He invited people to look back six years and compare.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Children now carry pens instead of stones. Schools remain open all year. Youth are working on startups, innovation, and research. Big dreams are being shaped in small villages.”
He said today, cultural and religious events take place without fear. Muharram processions and Ram Janaki yatras are held peacefully. Families can enjoy nightlife, and people can watch movies in local theatres instead of traveling to Delhi or Chandigarh. These changes reflect a shift in the atmosphere and lifestyle of the region.
LG Sinha also spoke about the role of youth in this transformation. He said their energy and potential are central to building a stronger Jammu and Kashmir. The development journey must continue with the involvement of all, especially the younger generation.
He called for unity against terrorism, drugs, and the networks that support them. “Our aim is a terror-free, drug-free, and fit Jammu and Kashmir. I appeal to the youth to come forward and play their part in building a peaceful and progressive future,” he said. “This is the new Jammu and Kashmir—real, confident, and full of possibilities.”(KNS)
