IGP Kashmir says JK police taken into consideration

Srinagar, Jul 10 (KNS): National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday attached the house of a pro-freedom leader and chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Asiya Andrabi. The house is situated at 90feet Soura in Srinagar outskirts.

NIA in a statement said that the approval for attachment of the property was granted by DGP, J&K as required under the law.

“Consequent to attachment, the property cannot be sold, transferred or otherwise dealt with in any manner without the express permission of officer making the order. Copy of the order has also been endorsed to Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar to enter the effect of attachment in the revenue records,” it added.

It said that the attachment has been done in connection with investigation of case under number RC-17/2018/NIA-DLI (DEM Case). “The owner of the house Asiya Andrabi has already been charge sheeted on 14.11.2018 in the case along with two other accused persons including Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen. All the three accused persons are in judicial custody presently. The Court of special Judge NIA New Delhi has taken cognizance of the case,” it added.

Meanwhile Inspector General of Police IGP Kashmir Zone, Swayam Prakash Pani as per KNS correspondent said that the Jammu and Kashmir police was taken into the consideration before attaching the house of Asiya Andrabi. (KNS)
