‘Civilian killings unacceptable, can’t be tolerated’

Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNS): National Conference on Monday condemned the killing of a youth, Yawar Ahmed of Ghassipora Wanpoh in Kulgam on Sunday and said unabated civilian killings were unacceptable and can’t be tolerated. Party State Secretary and Former Cabinet Minister, Sakina Itoo while expressing profound grief and sorrow over the killing on Yawar Ahmed expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
“Civilian killings are taking the Valley deeper and deeper into an abyss of alienation and disenchantment and it is incumbent on the Administration to ensure there is no further loss of precious lives. The youth stand alienated and isolated and such tragedies are pushing them further away from the system at grave costs to the cause of peace, stability and normalcy in the region” the NC State Secretary said in a statement to KNS.
NC South Zone President Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, District President Kulgam and MLA Abdul Majeed Bhat (Larmi), District President Anantnag and MLA Altaf Kaloo and Provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the killing of Yawar Ahmed and expressed solidarity with his family.
