NC, Tarigami reiterate to debate beef ban issue in Assembly

Srinagar, Oct 3 (KNS): Though the first day of autumn session of Assembly passed without allegation and counter- allegations over grave issues including beef ban, opposition National Conference reiterated that beef ban issue would be its priority to be raised in the ongoing session.
Former speaker and NC MLA Mubarak Gul outside Assembly complex told KNS that his party has already submitted bills on the beef ban issue. “We will raise this issue in the ongoing session come what may. We have submitted bills in the both houses to decriminalize the bovine slaughter in the state,” he said.
He further said that though the autumn session would be only for few days but his party would not leave any chance to debate the beef ban issue during the ongoing session. “Nobody will be allowed to interfere in our religious affairs,” he said.
He added that rehabilitation of flood victims and recent civilian killings in north Kashmir like issue would be also raised by the party on priority.
Meanwhile, CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami said that beef ban issue would be taken up during the session on priority. “Beef ban issue is a matter of grave concern for us and such issues need to be taken in the Assembly,” he said.
Tarigami said that issue of regularization of adhocs, contractual, daily wagers and others would be also taken up during the ongoing session.
Meanwhile, minister for health Chowdary Lal Singh told KNS that members must show respect the house proceedings and refrain from hurting sentiments of people of other religions.
“I hope members will not talk the way which will hurt sentiments of others. This government wants to take the state on developmental path so we should not concentrate on useless issues,” he added. (KNS)
