Jammu, Jan 23 (KNS): Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today welcomed handing over the investigation of case of the murder of a minor girl at Hiranagar to the Crime Branch of the State Police.
The Minister said the decision would further accelerate the process of investigation into this heinous crime and ensure restoration of the people’s confidence. He said the government is committed to ensure culprits involved in this inhuman act do not go scot free.
He said the swift action of the government would also act as a deterrent to prevent recurrence of such gruesome acts which are a blot on the humanity.
Pertinently, earlier today, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri informed the Legislative Assembly that along with the magisterial probe, the Crime Branch of Jammu Kashmir Police will investigate the murder of 8-year-old Ashifa Jan in Hiranagar area of district Kathua. (KNS)
