DC assures swift action against involved, 3 arrested so far

Kupwara, Sept 24 (KNS): Doctors and Para-medics of north Kashmir’s Tangdar area of Kupwara district on Thursday staged pen-down strike after their colleague was allegedly beaten up the unknown miscreants.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the doctor who was victimized has been identified as Dr Bashir who is presently posted at SDH Dildar Tangdhar as Surgeon Specialist.
Soon after the incident, the hospital fraternity protested against this alleged highhandedness of unknown miscreants and went for pen-down strike, while Doctors Association of Kashmir also expressed strong resentment and condemned the high-handedness of alleged miscreants in strong words.
Hospital sources told KNS that several persons from Dilgar village thrashed the surgeon when he was proceeding to look after the Covid-19 positive patient in Bhatpora and Dildar villages.
However BMO Tanghdar has written a complaint to SDM Karnah seeking action against the involved.
Sources told KNS that though doctors and para-medics have observed pen down strike however rest of the services including emergency one is functioning as usual.
Doctors at the medical facility have urged authorities to take stern action against the miscreants otherwise all services in the hospital will be stopped.
Dr Aijaz, President DAK Kupwara while talking to KNS condemned the incident and said such acts of hooliganism against doctors are intolerable.
He appealed authorities to initiate an exemplary action and book the culprits behind the bars.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Dr Anshul Garg in a tweet said, “Legal action initiated against the culprits, 3 of whom are under arrest and swift investigation is underway under close supervision of SDM @DrBilalbhatIAS. We shall not let anyone victimise our frontline Warriors & guilty shall be brought to justice. Request all to maintain calm”. (KNS)
