Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference and Awami Action Committee (ACC) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of AAC veteran activists and close aide of Shaheed Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (R.A), Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Gojwara and Haji Abdul Rasheed Khan of Bota Kadal both expired today after a spell of brief illness.
Mirwaiz as per a statement issued to KNS expressed heartfelt condolence and sympathy with the bereaved families. He prayed for the highest standard of Janah for Ghulam Hassan Sheikh and Abdul Rasheed Khan and remembered their contribution towards the movement and AAC.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh were held at Jama Masjid Srinagar which was led by Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon in which AAC’s Sufi Mushtaq, party workers, Halqa presidents and number of people participated.
Later a condolence meet was held at Party headquarters, Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal in which number of party members and workers participated and remembered and hailed the contribution of Gh. Hassan sheikh and Ab. Rasheed Khan
In the condolence meet special prayers and fatiha were offered for the departed souls. (KNS)
