Srinagar, Jan 09 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq strongly condemned the gruesome Indian forces act in which a youth Khalid Ahmad Dar (20) was killed in Kulgam after being shot at in his chest.
Mirwaiz said even protesting the harassing search operations under CASO and use of force is responded with lethal pellets, and bullets. Mirwaiz said the bloodbath of Kashmiri youth continues unabated under one pretext or other by the forces while human rights organizations civil society peace activists humanists in India and outside are observing a criminal silence on it.
Meanwhile Hurriyat Conference (M) paid glowing tributes to three militants killed in Chadoora Budgam and Larnu, Kokernag encounters stating that Kashmiri youth are paying priceless sacrifices for a great cause and their sacrifices are the assets of the Kashmir struggle and it’s the collective responsibility of people and the leadership to safeguard these sacrifices. Hurriyat (M) Spokesman said that people of Kashmir and the resistance leadership need to remain steadfast to ensure that the goal of martyrs is realized.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman said that instead of resolving Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of people of Kashmir, Government of India has adopted an oppressive and stubborn approach, muzzling genuine voices by use of military might chocking all space for peaceful resistance. Spokesman said that as there is no end to atrocities and persecution being inflicted upon the common people especially the youth currently in the form of CASO, the young feel frustrated and pushed to wall and left with no choice other than to pick up arms as a means of resistance.
Spokesman said that Government of India must shun its military approach and accept the ground realities of Kashmir and take concrete steps to resolve the long pending dispute as per the aspirations of its people so that peace prevails in the sub-continent.
Condemning use of brute force on the peaceful protestors at Chadoroa and Larnoo, Kokernag in which dozens of people sustained grave pellet injuries. He said it is once again clear that there is no space for raising voice or staging a protest even in a peaceful manner. (KNS)
