Militancy declined to a large extent: DGP


Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh on Friday said due to sharp decline in violence related incidents and active militants in Kashmir security situation has
has improved since last six months.
According to KNS correspondent while interacting with media on the side lines of a function at Baramulla town, Singh said the number of militants has come down from what it was earlier.
He said police is on a ‘mission’ of achieving peace in Jammu and Kashmir for which continuous coordination and collective efforts are ensured.
He said that J&K Police along with other security forces need to be more focused and determined for maintaining peace in the region.
The DGP also hailed the role of security agencies while dealing with anti-militancy operations, especially J&K police for improving the security situation in Kashmir valley after the centre Government abrogated the Article 370.
He was on a visit to North Kashmir where he gave commendation medals to number of police officers and stressed upon them to continue their good work with more dedication (KNS).
