Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday paid rich tributes to renowned academician, poet and social worker G.R. Gayoor, stating that he represented the values for which our society earned admiration in the whole world.
In a statement to KNS, Mehbooba said the best tribute to the late leader is to pursue the goals he cherished all his life, particularly his courage and strengthen to stand against the forces inimical to Kashmir’s ethos.
She added that Gayoor’s writings show the way and form part of our golden treasure of literature and letters.
Mehbooba further stated that she feels satisfaction in the fact that his legacy has been taken forward against all odds by his lovers and the family.
She further offered condolences to the bereaved family and stated that his death has caused a void which needs to be filled and would require equal dedication from living poets, academicians and social workers as was exhibited by the late guide and leader. (KNS)
