Funeral prayers in absentia held at Lal Chowk Justice Javed Iqbal was a true successor of his great father: Malik

Srinagar, Oct 03 (KNS): Chairman Jammu Kashmir liberation (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of famous intellectual, jurist, writer and son of great poet and thinker Allama Muhammad Iqbal (RA) who breathed his lost today at the age of 90. A funeral prayer in absentia was also held for the departed soul at Lal Chowk in which chairman JKLF Yasin Malik along with people from all walks of life participated.
Recalling his personal meetings with Justice Javed Iqbal, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Justice Javed Iqbal possessed many qualities of his great father.
He was sober, highly qualified, and humble and had great love for Kashmir and His heart always bleeder over the plight of Muslim Ummah.
In a statement to KNS, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Justice Javed Iqbal had an unambiguous stance on Kashmir and he openly supported the independence of Jammu Kashmir.
Mohammad Yasin Malik said that by his death Kashmiris have actually lost a great friend and sympathizer and Muslim Ummah has also lost a great thinker and intellectual. While praying for the heavenly aboard of the departed soul, Yasin Sahib prayed for the bereaved family also.
Meanwhile a funeral prayer in absentia was held at Madina Chowk Lal Chowk for deceased justice Javed Iqbal in which people from all walks of life participated in large numbers. JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and other JKLF leaders and activists also participated in the prayers and prayed for the heavenly aboard of Justice Javed Iqbal. (KNS)
