Spokesman condemns his arrests, says it has become loving hobby of authorities

Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): Chairman of JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has been arrested by police early today, a spokesman said on Thursday.
“A large contingent of police cordoned his residences in the wee hours of morning toady, raided his room and arrested him .after the arrest, he was immediately shifted to kothiBagh police station,” he said in a statement issued to KNS.
While strongly condemning the arrest of Malik, JKLF spokesman has said that to halt peaceful protest, arresting him and placing other leaders under house arrest has become the loving hobby of police and authorities.
He said that imposing restrictions to suppress people’s voices is no democracy but worst kind of dictatorship which Indian rulers are practicing under the grab of biggest democracy.
Terming the crackdowns in Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and other parts of Kashmir Valley, as ‘worst oppression’, the spokesman said that beating and torturing common people without the discrimination of age and gender, vandalizing and destroying their properties , arresting young boys and torturing them, humiliating elders and community leaders has become an order of the day which is highly condemnable.
He said that “intimidative slogans and statements of Indian rulers and fascist politicians and killings, torture, arrests, vandalizing and other oppressive measures by Indian army, forces and police cannot suppress, finish or even weaken our resolve for freedom.”
“These anti- democratic acts only shame Indian claims of being biggest democracy and can in no case defeat our valor and desire for freedom,” JKLF added.
“Our struggle and peaceful resistance is based on truth and justice and will continue till the derived goal is achieved,” spokesman said. (KNS)
