Lethpora Suicide attack: NIA arrests father-daughter in Pulwama

Srinagar, Mar 03 (KNS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested a Pulwama resident and his daughter in connection with last year’s suicide-bombing attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy, in which 40 personnel were killed.
According to Kashmir News Service Correspondent NIA sleuths accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF carried out the raid in a residential house of Tariq Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Maqbool Shah at Hakripora village early morning.
After conducting searches, the police arrested the house owner Tariq Ahmad and his daughter and took them to the concerned police station, sources said.
After being quizzed in police station for some time, the father-daughter duo was later handed over to NIA for further questioning, sources added.
A top official at NIA said on condition of anonymity that on the day of the suicide attack, Magrey drove the car but got down from the vehicle around 500 metres away from the attack site. “This shows how closely he was involved in planning and execution of attack.” (KNS).
