Srinagar, Aug 21 (KNS): Lashkar-e-Taiba on Tuesday extended Eid greetings to people, saying that the idea of Eid-ul-Adha is to sacrifice the most valuable belonging one has for Allah (SWT).
"Ibrahim (AS) was tested when he was ordered to sacrifice his beloved son, Ismail (AS). They both passed the test. Allah (SWT) was pleased with them and sent a sheep from the heavens to be sacrificed instead of Ismail (AS). Allah (SWT) liked their act so much that He ordered all the believers to follow the Sunnah of Ibrahim (AS) by sacrificing animals on the eve of Eid ul Adha," LeT spokesman, Dr Abdullah Ghaznawi quoted the outfit chief, Mahmood Shah as saying in an e-mailed statement issued to KNS.
"Today, the Muslims are in oppression. To get rid of all the crisis, we need to sacrifice our wishes and ego. They have to obey Allah (SWT) the way Ibrahim and Ismael obeyed. Allah (SWT) sees the hearts of the believers that how much they love their Lord, and what they can do for Him," he said.
"Allah (SWT) checks how much the Muslims follow the prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Islam is a complete code of conduct, and a believer is supposed to follow Islam in all aspects of life. This is how we can please the Lord of the Universe," he added.
"Another message of Eid ul Adha is to be gentle towards others. So, be generous towards the families of the martyrs. Similarly, be anxious towards those who are in prisons," he added. (KNS)
